Day 40: Sowing Seeds

The word that goes out
from my mouth
will not return empty,
it will accomplish
that in which I delight!
(Isaiah 55:11)

Pastor Ruth Ann Loughry writes: "God showers us with lavish Words - seeds of grace, love and forgiveness. When we hear from the font God’s forgiveness proclaimed, the Word makes forgiveness true. The sower is casting seeds upon us. When we hear from the table, “This is my body given for you,” the Word makes it so. God the sower is tossing seeds of life upon us.

The spiritual life is a listening life.

Listening to the sower who joyfully
and lavishly scatters the seed of the Word."

Day 40. Dollar 40. Pound 40. As Pastor Ruth Ann reminded us: "This week I ask you to listen not to the voices of the world, but to the voice of God. Listen for God’s call to live in grace, love and forgiveness despite a thorny world. Listen for God’s call to abundance rather than the world’s scarcity.
