Day 32: Passionate Change

----------------------------------------------------
Catalyst [‘kætəlist] n
  1. Chemistry: A substance…that modifies and increases the rate of a reaction without being consumed in the process.
  2. A person or thing that causes a change
----------------------------------------------------
Catalyst is a group of change-makers.
It is a group of people who are passionate

about ending hunger and have the ability
to inspire others to join them in that cause.

Dear Friends of Metro CareRing:
Our next quarterly Catalyst event will be held at Calvary Baptist Church this coming Thursday, July 7th, from 6:30pm – 8pm. Calvary is located at 6500 E. Girard Avenue in Denver - click HERE for a parking map with directions.

With over 1/3 of Metro CareRing’s clients under the age of 18 and school being out for the summer, it is timely that our conversation for this meeting will be centered around “Childhood Hunger - What Are Schools Doing About It?”

Cathy Schmelter will be our keynote speaker and help guide this discussion. Cathy is a Registered Dietician and author of Cutting Through the Nutritional Jungle: A Survival Guide to Feeding Kids. She has served as the Wellness Coordinator at Denver Public Schools and as the Director of Health Resources for Get Smart Schools. Currently, Cathy is working with An Ounce of Nutrition LLC, a nutritional consulting company that she founded in 1999.

This is an opportunity to get INFORMED and be INSPIRED! If you or someone you know is interested in joining us at this meeting, contact Ryan Galanaugh at 303-350-3663 or r.galanaugh@metrocarering.org.

Day 32. Dollar 32. Pound 32. Don't forget our Freedom Food Breakdown tomorrow, Sunday July 3, at 9:00am in the Great Hall over at Bethany. Over 4,000 pounds of rice and beans will be broken down into 1 pound sized bags for the people of Metro CareRing! God's work. Our hands!
