Got a package full of wishes,
A time machine, a magic wand,
A globe made out of gold.
No instructions or commandments,
Laws of gravity,
Printed on the box I see
ACME’s build-a-world-to-be.
Take a chance - grab a piece,
Help me to believe it.
What kind of world do you want?
Think anything.
Let's start at the start,
Build a masterpiece.
Be careful what you wish for,
History starts now.
Should there be people or peoples,
Money, funny pedestals for fools who never pay.
Raise your Army - choose your steeple,
Don't be shy, the satellites can look the other way.
Lose the earthquakes - keep the faults,
Fill the oceans without the salt,
Let every man own his own hand.
What kind of world do you want?
Think anything.
Let's start at the start,
Build a masterpiece.
Be careful what you wish for,
History starts now.
Sunlight's on the bridge,
Sunlight's on the way,
Tomorrow's calling.
There's more to this than love.
What kind of world do you want?
What kind of world do you want?
What kind of world do you want?
Think anything.
Let's start at the start,
Build a masterpiece.
History starts now.
Be careful what you wish for…
Start now.
Day 95. Dollar 95. Pound 95. What kind of world do YOU want? It's those lyrics near the end of this song that jump off the page for me: "Sunlight's on the bridge, sunlight's on the way."
Bridges are those handy little connections that take you from one place to another - from hungry to fed, from worried to content, from alone to surrounded. Metro CareRing aims to be that bridge for those in need here in Denver - connecting people to the assistance and resources they need to fight hunger and poverty.
And that sunlight? The light that's on its way? Well, that is HOPE! Bright light found in the people who volunteer to shelve food. Shining light found in the souls who connect with faith communities all around Denver to gather people and pasta. Beaming light from the personal connections made when serving those in need.
"Sunlight's on the bridge, sunlight's on the way.." and it's on its way toward the Avenues of Hope this Saturday! God bless you all for being that sunlight on the bridge!
